One of the real pleasures of getting older (i.e., OLD) is seeing people you met when they were young grow into their careers, into their voices. I’m in awe of the wide-ranging stuff Sara Hendren (@ablerism), whom I knew as an undergraduate, is working on these days. Ruth Graham (@publicroad), who did an independent study with me back in the day, is turning out to be as good a podcaster as she is a writer. And Garnette Cadogan, who emailed me about being a writer when he was still an undergrad at Tulane, is now one of the finest essayists we have. This is all deeply encouraging to me.
